Departure from the Col de Jaman for a trek of about 1 hour to the bivouac site, a hut with an unobstructed view of the Chablais, French Alps and Lake Geneva. History and geology of the region followed by dinner around the fire. The next day, we continue our walk to the Pierra Perchia pass. Then down to the Combe d’Allières to climb back up and finish the trek in an alpine cheese dairy at the Col de Jaman, with an assortment of cheeses, charcuterie and wine!
TOUR OF THE CHAIN OF VERRAUX
A two-day trek in the wilderness around this mountain range. A natural dividing line between the cantons of Vaud and Fribourg, the Verraux range is a long ridge dominating the Lake Geneva basin.
A tour of this mountain range allows you to admire the highest peak in the commune of Montreux, the Cape-au-Moine, from every angle.
ABOUT THE ADVENTURE
DAY 1
From the Col de Jaman to the hut
Equipment: Anti-sweat underwear, warm clothes for the night and a waterproof jacket in case of bad weather, poles, 2.5L water bottle, thermos flask, 30L bag, mountain boots, inflatable mattress and sleeping bag.
Difficulty: 1.7 km – 200m ascent
- 14:00 – Check in and departure from the Col de Jaman (Possibility to be picked up by car from Montreux or Les Avants).
- 15:00 – Arrival at the Corbex hut for the bivouac. Magnificent view of the pre-Alps and Dents du Midi. History and geology of the area with aperitifs.
- 19:00 – Big fire and barbecue
DAY 2
From the hut to the Combe d’Allières via the Col Pierra Perchia. Then back to the Col de Jaman for a tasting!
Equipment: Anti-sweat underwear, warm clothes for the night and a waterproof jacket in case of bad weather, poles, 2.5L water bottle, thermos flask, 30L bag, mountain boots.
Difficulty: 6.5 km – 540m difference in altitude +/-
- 08:00 – Breakfast and departure from the refuge for the Col de la Pierra Perchia.
- 09:30 – Break at the Combe d’Allières and then the last walk to the Col de Jaman
- 11:00 – Arrival at the Fromagerie for a well deserved aperitif!
