ABOVE LAKE LEMAN (Snowshoeing)

Go on a snowshoe trek above Lake Geneva and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and the lake. A rejuvenating winter getaway, capped off with a delicious fondue to make the most of the experience!

Difficulty: Easy

Meet at the Coucou parking lot in Haut de Caux. Take the rack-and-pinion train up for 2 stops.

From the train stop, hike up to the mountain pasture. Enjoy drinks and fondue at the pasture. A breathtaking view of Lake Geneva and the surrounding area!

Return via the western slope toward the small rack-and-pinion train stop. Take a short train ride down to Haut de Caux.

DAY 1

Ascent to Chamossale

Equipment: Anti-sweat underwear, warm and waterproof clothing for jacket and trousers, snowshoes, sticks, 1.5L water bottle, thermos flask, 20L bag, winter shoes.

Difficulty:1.8 km – 164 altitude + / 164m altitude –

 

  • 10:45 a.m. – Check-in and departure from the Haut de Caux train stop
  • 11:00 a.m. – Train ride up the mountain
  • 11:10 a.m. – Hike up on snowshoes
  • 12:15 p.m. – Aperitif (local specialties) and fondue!
  • 1:30 PM – Descent via the west slope
  • 2:40 PM – Arrival at the train stop, then walk down to Haut de Caux
