COL DE JAMAN & LOCAL PRODUCTS

An easy hike, ideal for families or large groups. Pass beneath the majestic Dent de Jaman to reach the Col de Jaman with its breathtaking views over Lake Geneva. Then, to add to the pleasure, a tasting of products from the Jaman mountain pastures accompanied by a (Swiss) Lavaux wine!

Difficulty: Medium

Departure from the Haut de Caux cog railway stop at 1150m. Climb along a path that runs alongside part of the railway line, then through the mountain pastures to the Chalet du Chamossal at 1500m.

A well-deserved break to take in the breathtaking views of Lake Geneva. Back on the path to cross the Dent de Jaman to reach the Col de Jaman at 1512m.

From here, I’ll buy local produce directly from the Col de Jaman mountain pasture. Col de Jaman mountain pasture. Choice of cheeses and cold meats, bread and wine brought by myself.

Return by another route.

DAY 1

Col de Jaman & degustation of the pasture products

Equipment: Anti-sweat underwear, jumper and waterproofs in case of bad weather, poles, 1.5L water bottle, 25L rucksack, mountain boots.

Difficulty: 13.5km outward and return journey – 550m ascent + / 550m ascent -.

10:00 – Check-up and departure from Haut de Caux
11.00 – Chamossal mountain pasture
12:00 – Arrival at Col de Jaman and visit to the cheese dairy with aperitif
14:00 – Descent by another route
16:00 – Arrival at the starting point
