First day, the most physical; Meeting at the Parking de l’Erié (possible to park further down in Fully and climb together), then departure for the crossing under the Grand Chavalard to the Col de Blé. Then climb the Chavalard, kingdom of the ibex and the bearded vulture. The summit must be earned, but once at the top the view is breathtaking over the Alps and the Rhone valley.
A small picnic at the summit and descent to the Sorniot hut to settle down and rest. A foot bath is most pleasant at the lower lake of Fully. An aperitif will be served with a story of the region before dinner.
The next day we climb the Col de Fenestral (another breathtaking view!) to the Lui d’Août gîte. This hike is half the intensity of the first one. Arrival in the afternoon. Supper and last night in the hut.
Third day, to finish gently, return to the Erie car park.
